Educating our community one life at a time

At Rachel’s House/First Choice Georgia Pregnancy Clinic, we seek to encourage responsible sexual behavior through two initiatives.

First, when a patient visits our clinic for a pregnancy test, we provide her with educational materials regarding STIs and we discuss associated health risks and preventative measures. Since most of the women we see are single, we encourage abstinence as the best practice for both physical and emotional health.

Second, we seek to encourage responsible sexual behavior by addressing middle and high school students when given the opportunity. We provide information about our services while encouraging them to avoid the need to visit our clinic through abstinence. We discuss setting goals and priorities, having self-confidence, and setting boundaries. We clearly outline the risks and dangers associated with premature sexual activity.

“Our desire is to address the root causes of purity issues rather than merely communicating to the masses to ‘abstain from having sex’. It is not our heart to be the cosmic ‘NO’, but rather call the young to a higher standard of living, imparting value for their hearts, and encouraging them to walk in all that God has created them to be.”

Our Healthy Parenting program helps equip moms with the basics of childcare. Topics include:

  • healthy development
  • nutrition and breastfeeding
  • early literacy skills
  • quality childcare
  • safety skills
  • discipline
  • healthy habits

Rachel’s House/First Choice Georgia Pregnancy Clinic provides training and equips volunteers with practical ways to make a difference in this world and in the lives of women facing unplanned pregnancies. Volunteers are trained to educate clients about all aspects of their options through one-on-one peer counseling. Resources, materials, and curriculum are provided.
